Effectus Organized the 1st Workshop in Greece on Crisis Communications for a Tourism Destination
On Saturday, 4 March 2023, effectus team has organized in Halkidiki, the 1st workshop in Greece on “Crisis Communication Management for a Tourism Destination”.
The purpose of this workshop was to educate and prepare all responsible parties – regional government, municipalities, local hospitality unions, hotel and tourist operators, etc.- on how to manage communications in a possible crisis at their destination. It was also targeting to highlight the pivotal importance of having specific communication processes as well as achieve efficient coordination of messages in order to protect the reputation of a tourism destination during a crisis.
The innovation of this interactive workshop lies in the fact that it uses real crisis simulation videos maximizing this way the educational benefits for the participants. The authentic video material used during the workshop was produced specifically for the purposes of this training by the internationally prestigious company Scenarios4 pointing to simulate real crisis scenarios.
Instructors, of this unique high engagement workshop were Ms. Katia Makri, renowned journalist and Mr. Zacharias Loudaros, communications consultant with expertise in crisis management.
Well-deserved credits go to the Regional Unit of Halkidiki and Halkidiki Tourism Organization for hosting the workshop and a special thank you to the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels and Hellenic Hoteliers Federation for financing and commissioning respectively the relevant video material.
